The Department of English   came in to existence  along with the establishment of college  in the year 2014.The undergraduate course that the department teaches is English Language and Literature  along with British  History and Political Science  as complementary  subjects.The programme has a span of three years spread over six semesters. Poetry, Fiction,Drama and Critical Theory are all tackled in the course which helps the students to develop  a curiosity for the world around and also to develop critical thinking in them. It offers a course in ‘English for Competitive Examinations’  which is open to any 5^th semester students of any department of the college. ‘World Literature in Translation’ is the elective paper for 6^th semester students. Literary programmes are  regularly conducted  under the aegis  of literary club to ensure the holistic development of students. The department has the credit of organizing National Seminar .

The department currenty has three permanent faculty posts and one  guest faculty post and has a total undergraduate strength of around 90 students.
